SMEC held its first session of ALPHA on Wednesday. Our topic for the night: Who Is Jesus? Given today's confusion, it was a very timely topic indeed!

C.S. Lewis wrote: "A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher." Either Jesus was and is the Son of God, or else He was insane or evil but, C.S. Lewis goes on, "Let us not come up with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to." "However strange or terrifying or unlikely it may seem, I have to accept the view that He was and is God."

Next Wednesday night's topic: Why Did Jesus Die? Join us for worship, dinner, a video on our topic, dessert and conversation starting at 5:30 pm.
